I prefer a rubberized case like this because it seemed like a better idea than the plastic cases which, have a tendency to pop open when dropped (from what I hear). Furthermore, I think that a rubberized case would be most able to absorb that kind of impact and it won't shatter. My only complaint is that it's hard to get the iPod in and out of that skin.
I have both a 2nd and 3rd gen Nano. I've used the Speck case from theday I bought the 2nd gen and loved it because of its wonderful protectionfeatures. I only recently was able to buy one to fit my 3rd gen and I lovethis case even more because the plastic one I had to buy at first was a total disaster. Thanks to Speck and Amazon for providing just what I need.

I, have never found a reason to do so and therefore I don't care about this. For me that's all I really need. the clip) does come off, the plastic nob that it connects to does not. So 5 stars. This makes it annoying if you want to put it in your jean pockets. Though the thing that allows you to strap it to your belt or whatever (i.e. Bottom line, it does an awesome job of protecting the ipod, allows easy access to all necessary ports and the scroll wheel is not obstructed.
However, it's not that large of a bulge to make it impossible, I just wish I could easily get rid of it.2. If you want to take the case off for any reason its a real annoyance. The nob thing on the back is the only annoying thing, but not a full star off annoying. Also, pretty good price.
I purchased this product for my teenage daughter and she liked it except that it would not fit into her docking station, so she had to take it off which was not easy. She got tired of doing that real quick and now she doesn't use it. So for me it was a total waste of my money.
Provides good protection for iPod. A little hard to get in and out at first, but gets easier the more times you do it.
